The Toronto Blue Jays are an elite Major League Baseball team based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Created in 1977 as part of the MLB expansion, the Blue Jays are the only Major League Baseball team in Canada.
On April 7, 1977, 44,649 fans braved the snow and freezing temperatures as the Blue Jays won their first regular season game, 9–5, against the Chicago White Sox. Doug Ault became an instant hero, hitting two home runs in the game.
After initial struggles, the team became a dominant team in the late 1980s and early 1990s, winning back-to-back World Series titles.
Although they have not returned to the World Series in recent years, the Blue Jays continue to enjoy periods of success and hold a special place in the hearts of Canadian baseball fans.
Having the opportunity to photograph and watch this baseball game, feeling the contagious energy of the fans and having the privilege of being at the Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB) was extremely exciting and fun.
It is certainly an experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
